Why work from Sea Point?
Sea Point sits on Cape Town's Atlantic Seaboard, between Lion's Head and the ocean, with Green Point, Three Anchor Bay, Fresnaye and Bantry Bay as neighbours. It's compact and easy to walk, so one working day can hold a walk on the Promenade, a swim and a proper lunch without getting into a car.
Town is close, too. MyCiTi route 105 runs between Sea Point, Fresnaye and the Civic Centre, and the CBD and V&A Waterfront are a short drive away. That makes Sea Point a good base whether you work for yourself, for a team abroad or for a company in the city.
Your options for working in Sea Point
Cafés on Main Road and Regent Road
Main Road and Regent Road are lined with coffee shops, bakeries and lunch spots, and plenty of people open a laptop in them for an hour or two. A few kind habits go a long way: order something every so often, take calls outside, give up the big table when the lunch crowd arrives, and keep mobile data handy in case the café wifi is busy.
Coworking hot desks
For full days, video calls and a connection you can rely on, a coworking hot desk is simply easier. You get a seat that's yours for the day, fast fibre, coffee and people around you, without the feeling that you should order another flat white. A day pass is the easiest way to try a space before you commit.
Private offices
Small teams usually outgrow cafés first. A private office gives you a door that closes, somewhere to leave your screens and a room for client calls, while still sharing the kitchen and the social side of a coworking space.
Living where you work
Staying for a while? Some people prefer to live and work under one roof. We cover that in our digital nomad guide to Sea Point, and you can see our rooms on the co-living page.
What to look for in a Sea Point coworking space
- Fibre that's built for video calls and big uploads
- A quiet corner or room for calls
- Lockers, so you can head to the Prom without your laptop
- Parking, if you drive in
- Flexible passes: a day, a 10-day pack, a month or a season
- Nice people and something social once the laptops close
Coworking at Howzit?
Howzit? is a coworking space in Sea Point that lives in a sunny single-storey house, about five minutes' walk from the Promenade. A hot desk is any open spot in the lounge, at the kitchen table or out in the garden, plus a smaller quiet room for calls. Every desk comes with fast fibre wifi, coffee, tea and rooibos, a locker, pool and garden access and our Social House events, and there are 2 parking bays available.

Need a door that closes? Our three private offices in Sea Point are lockable and furnished or unfurnished, as you prefer: Offices 1 and 2 for teams of up to 6 at R18,000 a month, and Office 3, the big room with its own en-suite bathroom, for up to 8 at R22,000 a month (12-month lease; month to month is R20,000 and R24,000). A day office is R950 for up to 3 people. The offices are available from 1 December 2026, and we're now taking bookings and viewings.
Where to take your breaks
The Sea Point Promenade
The Prom runs along the coast from Mouille Point to Bantry Bay: a wide, paved path with lawns, benches, play parks and outdoor gym equipment, and a steady stream of walkers, joggers and dogs. It's the classic lunchtime loop, and the best spot in the neighbourhood for a sundowner walk.
Sea Point Pavilion pool
The Sea Point Swimming Pool at the Pavilion on Beach Road is a City-run saltwater pool complex with a 50-metre main pool, a diving pool and splash pools for children, right on the edge of the Atlantic. It's open all year and cashless (card payments only); check the City's page for current hours and entry fees.
Saunders' Rocks
At the Bantry Bay end of the Prom, Saunders' Rocks has a small tidal pool tucked between big granite boulders. It's popular in summer and lovely at sunset. The water is cold, and the City recommends swimming where and when a lifeguard is on duty.
Lion's Head
The 669 m summit of Lion's Head gives you a 360-degree view over the city, Table Mountain and the Atlantic Seaboard. The path starts on Signal Hill Road; SANParks puts it at about 1 to 1.5 hours up, with some easy scrambling and chains near the top. There's no water on the route, so take your own. Sunrise before work or sunset after are both local favourites.
A good Sea Point working day
- Early: a walk or run on the Prom while it's calm
- Morning: deep work at your desk, calls in the quiet room
- Lunch: Main Road, or lengths at the Pavilion
- Afternoon: back to it, coffee in the garden
- Evening: sundowners on the Prom or a braai by the pool
